Overview
- Etihad publicly introduced its Beyond Borders product and the full A330-900neo cabin layout at Arabian Travel Market, a reveal first reported on Monday that showcases the airline’s new three-cabin look.
- The A330neo will carry 290 seats configured as four First suites, 24 Business lie-flat seats and 252 Economy seats, with First offering closing doors, a 32-inch screen, companion space and a personal powder station.
- Etihad selected Thompson Aero Seating’s customized VantageXL staggered platform for both First and Business, a choice shaped by the A330’s cabin width and common certification paths for the type.
- The airline says the first A330neo will enter service in September 2027, with 15 deliveries spread over five years, and has committed US$20 billion to fleet and experience investments including a US$1 billion retrofit programme starting in the fourth quarter of 2027.
- Management says the move expands First beyond traditional long-haul widebodies and will extend Beyond Borders across lounges and aircraft, aiming to bring a consistent premium experience to medium-haul routes and more customers.
