Etihad to Resume Abu DhabiDamascus Flights in June 2026

The carrier says the route reflects rising UAESyria demand.

Overview

  • Service begins on June 12, 2026 with four weekly flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Flights will use Airbus A320 aircraft configured with eight Business seats and 150 in Economy.
  • Published timings list EY561 departing Abu Dhabi at 09:15 and arriving in Damascus at 11:30, with EY562 leaving Damascus at 15:00 and reaching Abu Dhabi at 19:00.
  • The return restores a link suspended about 14 years ago when Syria’s conflict halted commercial operations.
  • Etihad’s move follows 2025 resumptions by carriers including Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Royal Jordanian and Qatar Airways, and the airline cites 2024 UAESyria trade up 23% to AED 2.5 billion and a UAE Syrian community of over 350,000.
