Ethiopian Runners Uma and Fikir Clinch Paris Marathon

Mulugeta Uma and Mestawut Fikir triumphed in the men's and women's Paris Marathon, marking a significant double victory for Ethiopia.

Mulugeta Uma won the men's race with a time of 2:05:33, narrowly avoiding a collision with an official near the finish line.
Mestawut Fikir secured the women's title with a time of 2:20:45, edging out compatriot Enat Tirusew in a close finish.
This marks the first time in five years that Ethiopia has achieved a double win in the Paris Marathon.
The victory came despite Uma and Fikir's relative lack of marathon experience, with Uma improving his personal best by more than 30 seconds.
More than 54,000 runners participated in the marathon, with nearly half being first-timers, showcasing the event's wide appeal.
