Ethiopia Dominates 50th Berlin Marathon with Double Victory

Milkesa Mengesha and Tigist Ketema secure wins in men's and women's races, respectively, on a record-setting day.

Milkesa Mengesha won the men's race with a personal best time of 2:03:17, finishing ahead of Kenya's Cybrian Kotut and Stephen Kiprop.
Tigist Ketema triumphed in the women's race with a time of 2:16:42, the third fastest in the history of the Berlin Marathon.
Ethiopia achieved a clean sweep of the women's podium with Mestawot Fikir and Bosena Mulatie finishing second and third.
The 50th edition of the Berlin Marathon saw a record number of 58,212 runners from 161 nations participating.
This year's race marked the first Berlin Marathon since 2014 without the participation of top stars Eliud Kipchoge and Kenenisa Bekele.
