Ethereum Staking Sets Record at 36 Million ETH as Entry Queue Swells

A swollen validator entry queue now delays new stakes by roughly 40 days.

Overview

  • On-chain data places staked ether near 36 million tokens, about 30% of supply and roughly $119–120 billion at current prices.
  • Validator activation demand has built a queue of roughly 2.35–2.5 million ETH, while the exit queue is reported near zero.
  • Institutions have become major contributors, with more than 10 million ETH staked collectively through custodians, ETF-linked flows, and large providers.
  • BitMine Immersion Technologies raised its staked holdings to about 1.25 million ETH, a jump of roughly 90% in a week, and Ether.fi added 276,288 ETH that its CEO attributed to institutional deposits.
  • Lido handles about 24% of all staked ETH, base staking yields are commonly in the 3–5% range, and total staked ETH has climbed from about 35.5 million since early January despite price weakness since August.
