Overview
- NEXCO Central said the ETC malfunction began around 1:00 p.m. and service was restored at about 2:50 p.m. on October 21.

- Operators raised lane barriers and temporarily opened entry and exit points to maintain traffic flow during the disruption.
- Vehicles that passed through the tollgate during the outage will not be billed for tolls.
- The incident follows a much larger ETC failure in April that spanned eight prefectures and took roughly 38 hours to fully restore.
