Estée Lauder Names PepsiCo Veteran René Lammers Chief Research & Innovation Officer

The hire caps Stéphane de La Faverie’s executive overhaul to speed a science-led push in product development.

Overview

  • Lammers will begin on Oct. 1, 2025 as executive vice president reporting to CEO Stéphane de La Faverie and joining the executive team.
  • His remit covers global R&D, product and clinical innovation, scientific affairs, regulatory strategy and upstream technologies, with oversight of R&D and Innovation Centers worldwide.
  • Estée Lauder says he is tasked with accelerating trend-driven, fast-to-market launches and advancing biotechnology and longevity platforms through expanded academic and external partnerships.
  • He joins from PepsiCo, where he served as executive vice president and chief science officer leading a roughly 3,000-person R&D organization, after earlier senior roles at Unilever.
  • De La Faverie said the appointment completes his rebuilt leadership bench, following hires such as Brian Franz to lead technology, data and analytics and Aude Gandon to head digital and marketing.
