Overview
- On June 3, Abbie Nudd, 32, and her niece Lydia, 4, were attacked by an American Bulldog in a neighbour’s garden on Willow Way in Dovercourt, Harwich.
- Nudd protected Lydia by leaping on her as a “human blanket,” sustaining bite wounds to her face, arms and torso and suffering a fractured wrist.
- Lydia was discharged on June 4, and Nudd left hospital on June 8 after receiving treatment at Colchester and Broomfield hospitals.
- A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control and has since been released under investigation.
- Essex Police have seized the dog and are keeping it in secure kennels while they continue to gather evidence.
