Overview

• An alleged impostor targeted an 87-year-old at about 14:25 on September 12 on the street Im Neerfeld in Essen-Frintrop.
• The visitor claimed to be from the waterworks and asked the resident to run a bathroom tap before the resident noticed him looking around the home.
• When confronted, the suspect fled the apartment and knocked a 66-year-old neighbor to the floor in the hallway, causing minor injuries treated on site.
• Witnesses reported the escape in a white transporter; the man is described as about 1.75 meters tall, 30–40 years old, with short dark hair combed back, dark clothing, and a cap.
