Overview

  • The voluntary recall covers ESR HaloLock models 2G520, 2G505B and 2G512B, totaling about 33,000 units sold across the U.S. and Canada from September 2023 to July 2025.
  • The CPSC reports nine incidents of these chargers catching fire or exploding, resulting in approximately $20,000 in property damage but no injuries.
  • Consumers are urged to stop using affected chargers immediately and label the device “recalled” before photographing its model number and emailing [email protected] for a full refund.
  • Users must not dispose of recalled units in regular trash or standard recycling and should instead take them to household hazardous waste collection centers in accordance with local regulations.
  • The recall follows earlier 2025 safety actions against Anker, Charmast and iStore power banks, underscoring ongoing regulatory scrutiny of portable lithium-ion chargers.
