Overview
- ESPN named Dave Pasch (play-by-play), Dusty Dvoracek (color) and Taylor McGregor (sideline) to call the matchup, which will air on ESPN with a Command Center option on the ACC Network.
- The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee and will draw the ACC Network's on-site pregame show, ACC Huddle.
- SMU enters ranked No. 19 and opened as roughly a three-point favorite while this will be SMU's season opener and Florida State follows a Week 0, 34-17 victory over New Mexico State.
- This is only the second meeting between the programs and the first in Tallahassee, with SMU having beaten FSU 42-16 in 2024.
- The heavy national coverage reflects stakes beyond one game because a strong showing could shape early-season momentum, public perception of FSU's rebuild under Mike Norvell and betting interest for both teams.
