Eskom Signals Grid Stability With Higher EAF and Zero Diesel Use

Maintenance-led recovery is cutting outages, curbing diesel spend.

Overview

  • Year-to-date Energy Availability Factor stands at 64.55%, with Eskom’s fleet hitting or exceeding 70% on 55 days.
  • Average unplanned outages fell to 7,705MW for 2–8 January from 13,876MW a year earlier, with UCLF down to 16.02% and PCLF at 9.32%.
