Escaped Lyon Inmate Captured After Hiding in Co-Detainee’s Bag

His arrest has prompted investigations into serious security lapses at the Lyon-Corbas prison.

Le détenu de 20 ans qui s’était évadé vendredi de la prison de Corbas,  a été interpellé lundi matin dans la métropole lyonnaise, a annoncé le parquet de Lyon lundi 14 juillet.
Le fugitif s’était évadé de la maison d’arrêt de Corbas dans un sac ce vendredi 11 juillet 2025.

  • Elyazid A., 20, was arrested Monday morning in Sathonay-Camp by OCLCO and DCOS units after three days on the run.
  • He fled on July 11 by concealing himself in a cellmate’s release bag and slipped out of the Lyon-Corbas facility undetected.
