Escaped Idaho Inmates Linked to Two Homicides After Manhunt
Skylar Meade and Nicholas Umphenour, escaped inmates and members of the Aryan Knights gang, are suspected in the deaths of two men in northern Idaho.
- Idaho officials identified the victims as James L. Mauney, 83, and Gerald “Don” Henderson, 72, whose deaths are connected to the escapees.
- The bodies were found in secluded areas near Leland and Orofino, following a 36-hour manhunt that ended with the arrests of Meade and Umphenour.
- No gunfire was exchanged during the arrests, which involved a short car chase. Bail was set at $2 million each for Meade and Umphenour.
- Investigators believe Henderson may have been acquainted with the suspects, unlike Mauney who encountered them while walking his dogs.
- Both escapees were members of the Aryan Knights prison gang and had previously served time together at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution.
