Escaped Georgia Inmate Arrested with Large Drug Cache; Accomplice Faces Federal Charges

Three out of four escapees now in custody, murder suspect Joey Fournier remains at large.

Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, an inmate who escaped a Georgia jail last month, was arrested in Augusta, Georgia, with large amounts of drugs of trafficking quantity.
Janecia Green, who allegedly assisted Barnwell in his escape, also faces federal charges.
Three out of the four inmates who escaped the jail have been captured, with Joey Fournier, who was being held on a murder charge, still at large.
Barnwell was found with 92 pounds of drugs including fentanyl, methamphetamines, cocaine, heroin, and weed, along with three firearms.
The inmates escaped through a damaged window and a cut fence, and were transported away in a blue Dodge Challenger.
