Overview
- Themis T1H is upright on its pad at Esrange in Kiruna with its four landing legs installed for the first time, completing full assembly.
- ArianeGroup says the milestone begins “combined tests” to verify mechanical, electrical and fluid interfaces with the pad, targeting a test under cryogenic conditions.
- The 30‑meter‑tall, 3.5‑meter‑wide stage uses the restartable, throttleable Prometheus engine, designed to enable controlled vertical takeoff and landing.
- After final checks, the stage was moved to the pad in August and hoisted to facilitate rapid leg installation, and it is now preparing for a wet dress rehearsal before initial flights.
- Developed under ESA’s Future Space Transportation program with ArianeGroup as prime contractor, the first flight campaign will run within Horizon Europe’s Salto project involving 25 partners across 12 EU countries.
