• A rule change last year cut the five-year eligibility period for women, allowing AFLW players to be inducted within a year of retirement.
• Erin Phillips and Daisy Pearce joined Debbie Lee as female inductees and became the first AFLW players in the Hall of Fame, with Phillips forming the first father-daughter pairing alongside her father Greg Phillips.
• Nick Riewoldt became the first No. 1 draft pick inducted, delaying his honour until he could return from living in the United States.
• South Australian goalkicking great Ken Farmer was elevated to Legend status after booting a SANFL-record 1,417 goals for North Adelaide between 1929 and 1941.
• The 2025 intake also honoured Luke Hodge and Garry Lyon, alongside historical inductees Peter Darley, John Leedham and posthumous honoree George Owens.
