Erik van Rooyen won the World Wide Technology Championship, marking his second PGA Tour victory, with an 18th hole eagle putting him two strokes ahead of Matt Kuchar and Camilo Villegas.
Van Rooyen's victory follows a late meltdown by Matt Kuchar who squandered a six-stroke lead the day prior, ending the game tied for the lead with Camilo Villegas.
Mone Inami won the LPGA’s Japan Classic, her first LPGA tour title, and is now considering to accept an immediate LPGA Tour membership which would officially make 2023 her rookie season on the LPGA Tour.
Should Inami accepts the LPGA membership, she would not be credited for the Rookie of the Year points for the win, and none of the points or money from the tournament will count towards the Race to CME Globe Points or the LPGA Official Money List.
Amidst victories, Matt Kuchar and Nasa Hataoka experienced professional set-backs; Kuchar's six strokes lead in the World Wide Technology Championship squandered and Hataoka's anticipated lead at the Japan Classic collapsed.
