Overview
- Durban City announced the hiring of Eric Tinkler on Thursday as their new head coach to replace Khalil Ben Youssef.
- Tinkler left Ghana’s Asante Kotoko after four league games before returning to South Africa to take the job.
- His first match in charge will be the KZN derby against AmaZulu at Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday, October 13.
- The club must balance cup duties and a congested schedule, having progressed past Rukinzo in the CAF Confederation Cup while sitting 10th in the Premiership with seven points from seven games.
- Tinkler brings wide PSL experience and a prior working relationship with chairman Farook Kadodia, and the club has set targets of a top-eight league finish and deeper cup runs this season.
