Hundreds of personal and showbiz items from the comedy legend's estate were auctioned nearly a year after his widow's passing.

  • The auction featured 700 lots of memorabilia from Morecambe's former home in Hertfordshire, following the death of his widow Joan in March 2024.
  • Other notable items included Morecambe's OBE medal, which sold for £11,000, and an oil painting by Richard Stone that fetched £15,000.
  • A ventriloquist dummy used on The Ed Sullivan Show and a personal letter from King Charles III were among the diverse items sold.
  • Auctioneer Charles Hanson highlighted the strong emotional connection fans still hold for the late comedy icon, who passed away in 1984.
