Eric Clapton's Iconic 'MTV Unplugged' Returns to Theaters and Streaming

A remastered 30th anniversary edition of Clapton's legendary 1992 acoustic performance will debut in select U.S. and U.K. theaters before streaming on Paramount+ next month.

The 90-minute special, titled 'Eric Clapton Unplugged… Over 30 Years Later,' will screen in select theaters on January 27 and 28, 2025, before streaming on Paramount+ starting February 12, 2025.
The remastered edition includes newly added footage of Clapton discussing the inspiration behind his songs and moments with the crew before taking the stage.
Clapton's original 1992 MTV Unplugged performance featured acoustic renditions of hits like 'Layla' and 'Tears in Heaven,' alongside covers of blues classics such as Bo Diddley's 'Before You Accuse Me.'
The live album 'Unplugged,' released after the 1992 performance, became the best-selling live album of all time, with over 26 million copies sold globally.
The project is a collaboration between MTV, Surfdog Records, and several producers, including Eric Clapton himself, and will be available in Dolby Atmos-equipped theaters.
