Overview

  • The 83rd Erdinger Herbstfest opens Friday and runs through Sunday, 7 September, with two large tents and a busy fairground.
  • Opening day features a 15:00 stand concert and beer service on Schrannenplatz, a 16:00 procession to the Festplatz, and the first tap by OB Max Gotz at 16:30 in the Stiftungszelt.
  • A Mass is priced at €12.40 in both tents, taps close daily at 23:30, and rides and stalls shut at midnight.
  • This year’s collector stein features a motif by artist and 3rd mayor Harry Seeholzer, produced by printED, with the original displayed at Erdinger Weißbräu’s Berlin venue and a limited run of 200 available at the Rathaus for €17.50.
  • Erdinger Weißbräu’s Festbier registers just over 13 percent Stammwürze for about 5.7–5.8% alcohol, uses local grain, Hallertau hops and deep-well water, and now falls under Martin Hofmann’s lead as tasters praised its quality.
