More than 33,000 Texans were without power amid brutally cold conditions, however, ERCOT stated that any outages were local and not related to the grid.
ERCOT's website showed that the grid was operating under normal conditions, despite the growing concern.
Despite assurances from Texas Governor Greg Abbott that the state's power grid is better prepared for winter than ever before, some Texans are frustrated with the performance of the state grid after the winter blackout of 2021.
