Overview

• A car and a truck collided about 9:30pm near the Hume Freeway exit ramp and Cooper Street in Epping.
• A 23-year-old man in the car was found with serious injuries consistent with gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital.
• An 18-year-old woman who was also in the car suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
• The truck driver was uninjured, remained at the scene, and is not believed to be connected to the shooting.
• Police established a significant crime scene, located a separate car on fire nearby, and are investigating any link as they appeal for dashcam or CCTV via Crime Stoppers (1800 333 000).
