EPFO Nears Completion of Higher-Pension Processing Under EPS-95
A minister told Parliament that pro‑rata calculations remain valid, with budgetary support maintaining a Rs 1,000 minimum pension.

- As of November 24, 2025, EPFO has disposed of nearly 99% of applications for higher pension under the Supreme Court’s November 4, 2022 ruling.
- An online system enabled 17.49 lakh joint-option submissions by July 11, 2023, with about 15.24 lakh applications forwarded by employers by January 31, 2025.
- EPFO issued 4,27,308 demand letters, and 34,060 cases were later deemed ineligible mainly due to non-remittance of the demanded amount.
- About 2,33,303 applicants deposited the demand or consent amount, including 96,274 still in service and 1,37,029 already retired.
- Among retired applicants who paid, roughly 1,24,457 pension payment orders have been issued, with 12,572 orders under finalisation.
