EPFO Launches ‘Passbook Lite’, Adds Annexure K Downloads and Streamlines Approvals

EPFO says the update will cut processing times through delegated powers with single-login access consolidating core services.

Overview

  • ‘Passbook Lite’ is now live inside the member portal, giving a summarised view of contributions, withdrawals and current balance without using the separate passbook site.
  • Members who need detailed or graphical statements can continue to use the existing Passbook Portal for a comprehensive view.
  • Annexure K, the PF transfer certificate, is now directly downloadable in PDF from the member portal, enabling real-time tracking of transfer applications and verification of updated balance and service period.
  • Approval powers previously held by RPFCs or officers-in-charge have been delegated to Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners and lower tiers for transfers, settlements, advances, refunds, cheque/ECS/NEFT returns and interest adjustments.
  • Officials say the changes will speed claim settlements, improve accountability at field offices, increase transparency for members and reduce load on the legacy passbook portal through integrated APIs.
