Overview

  • On August 11, the Garden House sake kiosk at EPCOT's Japan Pavilion was abruptly surrounded by extended beige construction walls and closed to guests without notice.
  • Signage on the barriers reads "Garden House is planting something new. Please visit the Sake Bar inside Mitsukoshi. Arigato!" and points visitors toward Mitsukoshi's sake bar.
  • Construction walls first appeared in a nearby walkway in June without interrupting service, but the new barriers have now expanded to fully enclose the kiosk.
  • Public permit filings for the walled-off walkway label the space as a "Gashapon Kiosk," suggesting Disney may add Japanese capsule-toy machines.
  • Walt Disney World Resort has not provided details on the work's scope or timeline and the rest of the Japan Pavilion remains open.
