Overview

  • UNITE HERE Local 737 announced the vote at an Aug. 26 press conference, saying Patina Group has not made adequate progress in contract talks.
  • The authorization covers Tutto Italia Ristorante, Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar, and Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria at EPCOT.
  • If a strike is called after Sept. 30, it would be the first employee walkout inside a Walt Disney World theme park.
  • Patina Group, a Delaware North subsidiary, employs unionized workers who filed a formal complaint in July over what they described as second-class conditions.
  • The union launched DisneyWorldFoodAlert.org to inform guests about labor disputes, and Walt Disney World has not publicly commented on the negotiations.
