Overview

  • The Garden House sake kiosk in EPCOT’s Japan pavilion was fenced off and closed on August 11 with beige construction walls blocking guest access.
  • Visitors seeking sake are directed under signage reading “Garden House is planting something new” to a small bar inside the Mitsukoshi Department Store.
  • The new walls connect to barriers installed in June along a nearby walkway that had allowed the kiosk to remain open until now.
  • Permit records for the adjacent walkway space filed in June label it as a “Gashapon Kiosk,” hinting at a possible installation of Japanese capsule-toy machines.
  • Walt Disney World Resort has not issued an official statement on the closure’s scope, duration or final purpose, leaving plans for the area unconfirmed.
