EPCOR’s Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe Opens Jan. 1, Marking Shift to Permanent Water Service

The facility replaces a state-authorized temporary hauling program that followed Scottsdale’s 2023 drought restrictions.

Overview

  • EPCOR will open the new water filling station on January 1, 2026 at 7 a.m., with daily hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Residents must register for a customer account and PIN, and access is limited to those within the designated Rio Verde Foothills service area.
  • The temporary arrangement run through the Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe District sunsets at midnight on December 31, 2025 as service transitions to EPCOR’s site.
  • EPCOR built the standpipe, a one-mile pipeline, and related infrastructure on an accelerated timeline in coordination with Maricopa County, state regulators, the Legislature, and Scottsdale.
  • EPCOR has supplied water from its portfolio since October 2023 and says rates are regulated by the Arizona Corporation Commission, with costs to be reviewed for potential future adjustments.
