EOW Kashmir Chargesheets TDPI Director in Absentia Over Alleged Kashmir Recruitment Fraud
Investigators cite oral as well as documentary evidence indicating trainees were cheated through fees after salary promises.

- Crime Branch Kashmir’s Economic Offences Wing filed the chargesheet on December 30 in FIR No. 04/2022 before the Court of Sub-Judge, Sumbal.
- The accused is identified as Ranjeet Prasad, director of True Dreams Project India Pvt. Ltd., a resident of Maksudpur in Gopalganj district, Bihar.
- The complaint alleges a recruitment drive in which about 1,300 trainees in Kashmir were promised Rs 5,000–12,000 per month but were each charged a Rs 2,400 registration fee with no salary paid.
- The investigation concluded prima facie offences under IPC Sections 420 and 120-B, with findings supported by oral and documentary evidence.
- With the accused untraced, the chargesheet was submitted in absentia and proceedings under Section 512 CrPC have begun to record witness testimony.
