EnviaM to Cut Power, Gas and Heat Tariffs in Eastern Germany From Jan. 1, 2026

The utility cites falling procurement costs alongside lower network fees as the drivers of the cuts.

Overview

  • The reductions cover electricity, natural gas and heat-power tariffs, taking effect at the turn of the year for customers in Mitnetz network areas.
  • Basic electricity supply falls by 5.97 cents to 31.94 ct/kWh, equating to about €96 in annual savings for a typical household using 2,000 kWh.
  • Residential gas drops by 1.07 cents to 13.07 ct/kWh, saving roughly €160 per year for a household consuming 18,000 kWh.
  • Heat-pump electricity decreases by 4.08 cents to 25.49 ct/kWh, while heat-storage tariffs fall to 25.39 ct/kWh (off-peak) and 33.58 ct/kWh (peak), yielding average savings of €222 for heat-pump users and €201 for heat-storage customers.
  • About 650,000 electricity customers plus roughly 50,000 gas and 50,000 heat customers in parts of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Brandenburg are affected, as EnviaM maintains up to a two-year procurement horizon and warns of continued price volatility.
