Overview
- The station closed on Thursday, August 20, for an estimated three months so crews can carry out tasks that cannot be done while trains run.
- Engineers will perform structural waterproofing by injection, treat expansion joints and apply an aluminum‑zinc anticorrosion roof coating to channel and stop water infiltration.
- Interior upgrades will include new floors, full repainting, LED lighting, updated wayfinding and tactile braille signage to improve safety and accessibility for passengers.
- Protected murals inside the station will be restored by specialist conservators under the supervision of the city’s heritage office and the national monuments commission.
- The work is part of SBASE’s broader Plan of Renovation that has already refurbished multiple stations and currently keeps others such as Tribunales and General Urquiza closed for similar projects.
