English National Opera Strike Suspended

Interim settlement reached with chorus, negotiations to continue

English National Opera (ENO) musicians and chorus have suspended their planned strike over pay and conditions, according to the performing arts union Equity.
The strike was set to occur on the opening night of the new run of The Handmaid's Tale on February 1.
An interim settlement has been reached for the chorus, and negotiations with the ENO will continue.
The Musicians' Union will continue taking action short of a strike while negotiations are ongoing.
The strike suspension comes after ENO management announced plans to make all of the chorus, orchestra and music staff redundant and re-employ them for six months of the year.
