Engineer Rashid was released from Tihar Jail on interim bail until October 2 to campaign in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly

His party is fielding 34 candidates, including his brother, in the upcoming elections.
Rashid defeated former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Baramulla.
