- Raffaele Di Giacomo, a 47-year-old Milan-based engineer visiting family, was assaulted late on 26 August in Fuorigrotta after stopping to help a scooter rider who had fallen.
- The group that attacked him grew from about six to at least a dozen youths who punched, kicked and struck him with helmets, according to his account.
