Enem 2025 Day One: Aging Essay, 73% Attendance and New Security Measures

The education ministry set Thursday for the official answer key release as candidates prepare for next Sunday’s Math and Science tests.

Overview

  • Officials reported 4.8 million registrations with 73% present on day one, across 1,805 municipalities, 11,791 sites and 164,906 rooms.
  • Enhanced controls included metal detectors in every room, and a candidate in Juazeiro do Norte (CE) was arrested after using an undeclared cellphone and carrying draft material.
  • The essay prompt, “Perspectives on aging in Brazilian society,” echoed a broader focus on intergenerational issues and was anticipated by some teachers and influencers.
  • Exam content featured the largest supporting text since 2009—Ana Elisa Ribeiro’s 2,863‑character “De próprio punho,” which anchored multiple questions alongside items on culture, environment and youth generational labels.
  • Inep will post the day-one answer key on November 13, the second test date is November 16, and Belém, Ananindeua and Marituba will sit on November 30 and December 7 due to COP30.
