Encor Unveils Series 1, a Carbon-Bodied Remaster of the 1975 Lotus Esprit

Commissions are open for 50 builds priced from £430,000 before taxes, with first deliveries expected in 2026.

Overview

  • Built from late-1990s Esprit V8 donors, the mid-mounted 3.5-liter twin-turbo is rebuilt to about 400 hp and roughly 350 lb-ft.
  • A reengineered five-speed manual features Quaife-developed ratios, a stronger input shaft, a twin-plate clutch and a limited-slip differential.
  • Chassis updates include Sport 350-spec suspension, AP Racing brakes and retained hydraulic steering for period-correct feel.
  • A single autoclaved carbon shell recreates the S1’s lines with slim pop-up LED headlights and a cabin mixing tartan trim with modern displays.
  • Orders require a suitable donor Esprit, with prices starting at £430,000 before taxes and deliveries slated to start in Q2 2026 and continue into 2027.
