Raducanu's first-round match was humorously interrupted by a cricket, which was eventually removed by a ball girl, prompting laughter from the spectators.
Raducanu is scheduled to face China's Yafan Wang in the second round on Thursday, January 18.
Wang also advanced to the second round after a comeback win over 22nd seed Sorana Cirstea.
This will be the first-ever clash between Raducanu and Wang, with both aiming to reach the third round of the Australian Open for the first time.
