Emirates Unveils Next Retrofit Phase for 111 A380s and 777s With Astrova IFE and Starlink
The move aligns cabin upgrades with a fleetwide Starlink rollout that starts entering service in August 2026.
Overview
- Emirates confirmed 60 A380s and 51 Boeing 777s are included in the new tranche, with the refreshed products debuting from August 2026.
- All retrofitted aircraft will feature Panasonic’s Astrova system with 4K OLED HDR10+ screens, Spatial Audio, the Arc 3D map, Bluetooth audio, and 67W USB‑C power at every seat.
- Starlink connectivity will be installed concurrently across the A380 and 777 fleets as each aircraft undergoes cabin work.
- Emirates Engineering is partnering with Airbus, Safran, Recaro, Panasonic, Starlink and UUDS, and will add a new onboard lounge on the A380s.
- To date 76 aircraft have been refurbished under the program, with average downtime of about 22 days for A380s and 18 days for 777s.
