Emirates DubaiHyderabad Flight Receives Bomb-Threat Email, Lands Safely in Hyderabad

Investigators are examining a string of emailed threats targeting Hyderabad-bound flights.

Overview

  • Hyderabad airport said an email threatening Emirates flight EK526 arrived at 7:30 am, and the Boeing 777 landed at 8:30 am under heightened monitoring.
  • The aircraft was moved to an isolated bay as teams conducted baggage, cabin and cargo screenings with sniffer dogs and fire services on standby.
  • On Thursday, IndiGo 6E58 from Madinah diverted to Ahmedabad after a threat email, passengers deboarded, and searches found no suspicious items, police said.
  • Airport sources said a separate email named IndiGo’s SharjahHyderabad flight 6E1422; the jet landed in Hyderabad and standard protocols were applied.
  • CISF, NDRF and police are tracing the origin of the messages, with officials calling the alerts hoax-like and noting similar threats in recent weeks, including a KuwaitHyderabad flight diverted to Mumbai.
