Emirates Details Starlink Rollout Across Entire A380 and 777 Fleet

Installations align with a fresh retrofit phase introducing Astrova IFE plus new seating on 111 aircraft from August 2026.

Overview

  • Emirates says Starlink will be deployed on 232 in‑service wide‑bodies, beginning with Boeing 777 installations in November 2025 and A380 work from February 2026, with completion targeted by mid‑2027.
  • The first Starlink‑equipped 777‑300ER (A6‑EPF) has been fitted and will operate the airline’s debut passenger flight with the service immediately after the Dubai Airshow.
  • The airline plans to equip about 14 aircraft per month, using two antennae per 777 and three per A380, with advertised per‑terminal download speeds of 135–310 Mbps and live TV launching via Starlink from late December 2025.
  • Separately, Emirates confirmed the next retrofit phase covering 60 A380s and 51 777s, with work to introduce the new cabin products commencing in August 2026.
  • Cabin upgrades include Panasonic’s Astrova IFE with 4K OLED HDR10+, Spatial Audio, Arc 3D moving map, and 67W USB‑C power, plus new Safran‑inspired Business seats, Recaro Premium Economy, Safran Z400 Economy seats, and an A380 lounge; 76 aircraft have been refurbished to date, typically taking ~22 days for A380s and ~18 for 777s.
