Overview
- Passengers may carry only one power bank under 100 watt-hours and it must remain switched off for the entire flight.
- Power banks must be stored within reach in the seat pocket or in a bag under the seat and are prohibited in overhead bins and checked luggage.
- Using a power bank to charge devices or recharging the power bank via in-seat power is no longer allowed on any Emirates flight.
- Emirates says the policy aims to reduce thermal runaway hazards tied to lithium-ion batteries, aligning with 2025 restrictions adopted by airlines including Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Korean Air, China Airlines and Thai Airways.
- Emirates provides in-seat charging and advises travelers to fully charge devices before flying and to carry clearly labeled, undamaged power banks.
