Emirates and Safran Seats Sign MoU to Build Aircraft Seat Facility in Dubai by 2027

The tie-up aims to localize seat production in Dubai to support Emirates’ retrofit plans, strengthening supply-chain capacity.

Overview

  • The MoU was unveiled at the Dubai Airshow 2025 for a 20,000–25,000 m² site slated for completion in Q4 2027.
  • Production will ramp up in phases, beginning with assembly of up to 1,000 Business Class seats per year.
  • Initial output will target Business and Economy seats for retrofit projects, with a planned move into line-fit installations.
  • The facility will serve Emirates and other Safran Seats customers, described as a first step toward a broader aerospace manufacturing cluster in Dubai.
  • Emirates says the initiative aligns with Dubai’s D33 economic agenda and notes Safran’s current role supplying seats for its retrofit program and A350 fleet.
