Emily Henry to Adapt 'Funny Story' for Film

The bestselling romance author will write the screenplay for her latest novel, marking her first direct adaptation.

'Funny Story' follows a children's librarian's romantic entanglements after a broken engagement.
The film will be produced by Lyrical Media and Ryder Picture Company.
Henry's previous novels 'People We Meet on Vacation,' 'Book Lovers,' and 'Beach Read' are also being adapted.
'Happy Place' is set to become a Netflix series produced by Jennifer Lopez.
Henry's books have sold over 7.5 million copies in North America.
