The snapshot reflects Democratic gains since August alongside weaker approval for key GOP leaders.

  • In the open governor’s race, Amy Acton leads Vivek Ramaswamy 46% to 45%, with 9% undecided.
  • In the special U.S. Senate contest, Jon Husted leads Sherrod Brown 49% to 46%, with 5% undecided.
  • Since August, Acton is up seven points and Ramaswamy is down four; in the Senate race, Husted is down one and Brown is up two.
  • The Emerson College survey of 850 active registered voters was conducted December 6–8 with a credibility interval of +/- 3.3 points using mixed MMS-to-web and online panel methods.
  • Husted currently holds the seat after being appointed to succeed JD Vance, who became vice president, and the election to fill the remainder of the term is set for November 2026.
