Emergency Services Respond to Thornaby Assault and Hartlepool Child Medical Call

Cleveland Police have opened a probe into the assault following a street cordon in Thornaby.

Overview

  • On June 23 the Great North Air Ambulance and North East Ambulance Service dispatched two double-crewed road ambulances and an air crew to a private Hartlepool address after a child suffered a medical emergency.
  • The air ambulance landed at Lynnfield School at around 8 pm where the critical care team joined NEAS staff in treating the child, who was then taken to hospital by road.
  • On June 24 at about 3.35 pm paramedics and a GNAAS critical care car responded to an assault at a house on Georgiana Close in Thornaby where a man was found with serious lacerations to his arms and legs.
  • The Great North Air Ambulance critical care car arrived minutes later to support North East Ambulance Service medics in providing urgent care before the victim was rushed to hospital.
  • Detectives have cordoned off the area for a crime scene investigation and are appealing for witnesses or CCTV footage, quoting reference number 115839.
