Overview

• Victoria Police said they received a report shortly before 1pm of two bodies at Lendenfeld Point in Nelse, north-east of Falls Creek.
• Uniformed officers, the Search and Rescue Squad, the Air Wing and the State Emergency Service were deployed to respond.
• Authorities cautioned that reaching the isolated location would take time and early updates indicated officers were still en route.
• Nine News later reported police expected to get boots on the ground about 6pm followed by an additional two-hour hike to the site.
• Police said the operation is unrelated to the search for Dezi Freeman and no identifications or causes of death have been confirmed.
