Emergency Evacuation Slide Falls from United Airlines Plane Landing at Chicago O'Hare

An emergency evacuation slide fell from a United Airlines Boeing 767 as it flew into Chicago O'Hare airport after arriving from Switzerland.
The slide hit the side of a house in a Northwest Side neighborhood, damaging the roof and a window screen.
No injuries were reported from the incident, though the slide is considered a significant piece of equipment.
United Airlines and the FAA are investigating how the slide became detached from the aircraft during flight.
