Embark Studios Sets Oct. 8 Release for ARC Raiders’ Frozen Trail 2.0

The studio says the update is a near soft relaunch designed to reset player engagement through large new content and a planned six‑month cadence for big patches.

Overview

  • Embark announced Frozen Trail 2.0 on Wednesday, Sept. 23 and confirmed the update will arrive on October 8 as a major milestone for ARC Raiders.
  • The update adds a large new map called Pendola Pass with unpredictable Flash Freeze weather, Avalanche Shelters for temporary safety, and a Ballistic Gondola extraction that fits three players.
  • Frozen Trail introduces the Frigate, a large airborne carrier, plus three new enemy types — the fast Bully, the stealthy Skulker, and the multi-part Hydra turret — that change combat encounters.
  • New systems include Outposts with workbenches and crafting, a Research Station for Weapon Amplification, an improved quest and skill progression, two new weapons, gadgets like a Grappling Hook and Tether Launcher, a 60-level Reward Pass, and a Collector Set DLC bundle.
  • Embark frames the release as a near re‑shipping meant to revive a shrinking player base and says it will target roughly one Frozen Trail–sized update every six months with future decisions guided by player response and engagement.
